Surf Photos: Weekend of 10/11 Sep 2011
11th September 2011
Encouraged by the glowing forecasts of swell for the weekend I set out early on Saturday morning to see what I could find. What I found were 3 pods of dolphins at 3 different beaches: Turmietta, Dee Why and Curly. And that was about all I saw on my tour around the traps. Unfortunately, nowhere was living up to expectations but on my second look at Dee Why I did strike gold between 730-900am.
It was a beautiful morning for it with the sun shining down and lighting up the scene brilliantly. But gosh it was cold in the wind where the chill factor felt like it was in the single digits. That didn’t stop the hordes from descending upon Dee Why for the earlyish and enjoying themselves as there were plenty of waves to catch. Check out all the action here – http://www.wozthatyou.com/portfolio220484.html
I grabbed a second session late in the day at Curly where it was still delivering some juice but by then the clouds had set in and the light was sub-par but the action wasn’t. You can see all those shots here – http://www.wozthatyou.com/portfolio220514.html
Sunday was forecasted as being better than Saturday but sadly this did not materialise. However, I don’t think it really mattered as the sun was shining again and the wind was a tad bit warmer so the masses were out again in full force. Plus, we were getting some nic e waves on a weekend which is definitely a bonus.
I did two tours of duty today shooting at Dee Why and Gardens from about 7-8am then again from 11-2pm. You can see all the pics from these sessions here – http://www.wozthatyou.com/group11658.html
Have a great week!
Cheers, Doug
